The politicking over the Murray-Darling Basin is leading to misinformation frustration and ultimately a river system that is sick and in crisis.

During a senate select-committee on the Multi-Jurisdictional Management and Execution of the Murray-Darling Basin, I was asking questions to Mick Keelty Interim Inspector-General of Murray–Darling Basin Water Resources. His answers were honest.

"Let's call it what it was. It was political" he stated in response the Commonwealth refusal to participate in the South Australian Murray Darling Basin Royal Commission.

We have a lot of work to do to ensure that the Rivers stay alive and now we have the countries leading scientists telling us that under climate change it will become increasingly challenging to manage the Basin.

We must put the health of our Rivers and river communities first.
